Aikido Classes
Committed to the pursuit of the art.
North County Aikikai offers a range of Aikido training, including mixed classes from basic through advanced, as well as classes for children. Along with Aikido body arts classes, weapons training plays an integral part in developing the mind/body movement of Aikido.
Aikido
Aikido trains the body to move in a centered and harmonious way. Partners use various attacks, learning to move with the force of the movement, unbalancing and neutralizing it.
Weapons
Weapons training using Bokken (wooden sword) and Jyo (wooden staff) reveal the martial roots of our practice.
YOUTH
Kids learn how to fall safely, move with awareness and develop self-confidence. Through partner practice they learn co-operation and respect for each other.

North County Aikikai and Birankai Annual Fee:
- Adults: $65 – Waived Oct-Dec each year and for the first 3 months of introductory membership
- Juniors and Children: $45 – Waived Oct-Dec each year (additional siblings: $15)
Due when you first sign up and thereafter at the beginning of each year. Birankai and North County Aikikai annual fees include membership to Birankai plus insurance.
Visitor’s Fees:
- Birankai Members: $15 per day
- Non-Birankai: $20 per day
Member Responsibilities:
Membership dues are payable by the first of each month and are not dependent upon the number of classes at tended. In cases of financial hardship, special arrangements can be made. Electronic payments using a bank account (EFT Electronic Fund transfer) or most major credit cards are preferred. It is encouraged that members make electronic payments through Zen Planner, an online software for membership management.
